Top 20

YES, it's back. Probably bigger and probably better - which songs made the cut this week? Note that this is NOT a continuation of last year's chart thus no NE/RE tags apply. Also, new rule - ONE ENTRY PER ARTIST. Gah. I had too many DBSK entries at one point last year and I'm pretty sure you guys are too sick of them. lol.

Top 20

Picking up where we left off with the last non-'special' top 20, here's this week's chart! Yay. B2ST take the top spot. Why? Because the song might not be the best in the world and they might not have drop-dead gorgeous vocals but dammit, the performances are outstanding for a band of this caliber. So yeah. Hahah.

Top 20: Special.

This is a special top 20, mainly because just last week (can't believe it's only been a week - it's like so much time passed!) I was freaking out of DBSK and the possibility of them splitting is still high. I and everyone else who has ever liked a DBSK song hope that they don't dissolve into history like dust but something has to happen at the end of this and it's better to be ready to face the truth than be blind to what MIGHT happen. I'm not saying they're split but as of now it's 50-50 - either they split or they don't and either one can happen.

Even if I wasn't a gigantic fan I'd still be doing this because what's happening to the guys now is a reflection of what and where the pop music industry is now - it's run by stupid people who nothing about music and has to be saved before these stupid people do anything even more harmful than what we're already seeing.

EDIT the night before this got published: That was written before the announcement that SM would be revising their contracts. No one knows if they were telling the truth and if this is really a win for DBSK but either way - this special chart still stands with the same purpose! Hahah. AND this was certainly written way before the announcement that DBSK would be pursuing solo activities that one, had nothing to do with DBSK and two, nothing to do with SM. Oh dear.

ANYWAY. Here's the (special) top 20 for this week - time to reveal why exactly I think DBSK are brilliant.

1. The Saturdays - Ego (1 Week)

Top 20

I've got final exams starting tomorrow until Wednesday so I'll be MIA 'till then. After though, expect my reviews of The Saturdays' Workshaker (REALLY late, I know), Cheryl Cole's '3 Words', Beast's mini-album and possibly Alexandra Burke's 'Overcome'. ANYWAY.

This week was a bit boring for me - nothing new and ground-breaking came out. Westlife's What About Now sucks (if I review it I think I'll just get even more annoyed so I'll wait for the album release), Cheryl Cole's album is boring and the SS501 release isn't as good as I thought it would be.

SNSD are #1 - mainly because Genie is still insanely good months after it's release. Also, Beast's debut single makes a big splash on my chart this week at #4. MBLAQ sucks so I'm putting my bets behind Beast - at least the song has a melody. My only problem would be the dance break but I'll save that for the actual review (if I ever get around to writing one.). ANYWAY, here's the rest of my chart:

20. f(x) - Lachata
19. DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki - Whatever They Say (NE)

7. DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki - Love In The Ice
6. DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki - Survivor
5. The Saturdays - Open Up
4. BEAST - Bad Girl (NE, vid)
3. SHINee - Ring Ding Dong
2. Super Junior - It's You
1. Girls' Generation/SNSD - Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) (4 non-consecutive weeks)

Top 20

The Saturdays' Unofficial FINALLY leaves the top 20 after an astonishing 16 weeks on the chart (which has been around for 18 weeks). Yes, I was THAT addicted to it. *clap clap clap*

Now you must be asking, why is Chocolate Love in the top 20? BECAUSE I CAN'T GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD - it took half an hour worth of playing SHINee's Ring Ding Dong over and over again to get it out! Speaking of SHINee, they take the top spot away from Jaejoong and Yoochun DBSK this week - Ring Ding Dong will be big, I can really feel it.

The entire top 20 for this week:

Top 20

Although as a whole, The Saturdays' Workshaker went right through me, two songs from it debut on this week's chart! Hahah. DBSK still dominates the chart and SNSD jump back up to #2 due to me FINALLY getting a physical copy of the album. SHINee also comes into the chart at #8 with a track from their second mini-album and Yoo Young Jin, the guy responsible for a lot of SM's biggest hits including Sorry Sorry, enters at #9 with a re-arrangement of Sorry Sorry especially for a Super Junior concert.

1. DBSK/TVXQ/Tohoshinki (Jaejoong and Yoochun) - COLORS~Melody and Harmony~ (2 weeks)

Top 20

The most surprising entry this week is Britney Spears - you guys know I hate her guts. However, 3 is musically very, very, VERY good albeit the lyrics (which have caused quite a stir). And in honor of Jaejoong and Yoochun DBSK literally CRUSHING the competition (they got as far as selling over 100K more than the # 2 single) and staying at number one in Japan, they're number one this week!

Also, only 2 new entries this week - everything that happened was pretty much movement between entries last week.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! But let's get to business. Super Junior M weren't supposed to take the top spot for this week (DBSK were.) BUT then something called the KOREAN version of the song came along and dammit, it made me hallucinate again. 3 new entires this week and one re-entry. Enjoy! hahah.
