NEUROSIS Prepares To Engage Brooklyn and Philadelphia Audiences Next Week

Neurosis

The next round of live performances from the mighty NEUROSIS draws near, as the outfit prepares to invade the Northeast for shows in Brooklyn and Philadelphia next week.

Next Saturday, January 19th NEUROSIS will return to the historic Masonic Temple in Brooklyn, the venue they nearly tore to the ground when they last played in New York with a pair of shows in early 2008 with openers Mastodon. On this trek the opening support for NEUROSIS will be provided by the scathing drum/guitar attack of ex-Khanate/Khlyst duo James Plotkin and Tim Wyskida on their new experimental venture in auditory torture.

The following day, Sunday January 20th, the quintet will devastate audiences in Philadelphia’s cavernous Union Transfer venue, marking the first NEUROSIS performance to hit the city since late 2004! Opening support for this special show will come from the solo act of John Baizley of Baroness. This will mark one of the very first performances from Baizley since before the massive bus crash the band has been recovering from slowly since mid-August.

Opening support for NEUROSIS’ following live actions next month in Denver and Austin have also been confirmed, with Native Daughters and Jay Munly leading the festivities in Denver on February 16th, and the brutal billing of Eyehategod and Rwake kicking things off at the Austin show on the 17th. The band has also been confirmed for 2013’s installment of the massive Hellfest festival in Clisson, France. The gathering runs from June 21st through 23rd, and will see NEUROSIS sharing the stage with Kiss, ZZ Top, Down, Bad Religion, At The Gates, Kreator and hundreds more.

NEUROSIS treated spectators in their native hometown of Oakland to a free, invite-only concert on New Year’s Day, catching many longtime fans by surprise. View new live footage of the performance and more HERE.

NEUROSIS Honor Found In Decay Live Actions:

1/19/2013 Brooklyn Masonic Temple - Brooklyn, NY w/ James Plotkin/Tim Wyskida
1/20/2013 Union Transfer - Philadelphia, PA w/ John Baizley

2/17/2013 Emo’s East - Austin, TX w/ Eyehategod, Rwake
6/21/2013 Hellfest - Clisson, France

Following the CD and digital releases of the acclaimed Honor Found In Decay in late October, the deluxe 2xLP vinyl edition of NEUROSIS’ tenth studio album will be unleashed February 5th in North America, February 8th in Germany/Benelux/Finland and February 11th in the UK/World, via Relapse Records/Neurot Recordings. Packaged in a Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket and accompanied by a 16-page LP-sized booklet, the audio was cut directly from the original studio master tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl, which will be available in five different colors: 2000 on black, 1000 on translucent smoke grey, 500 on translucent yellow, 500 on translucent orange, and 100 on clear, not available to the public.

Stone Axe are loading the road cases, fine tuning the live set, and packing fresh clothes for the 2012 edition of their European Tour with Stubb and Trippy Wicked, once again, performing in the support slots. Ripple News - Katatonia Tour Dates Announced

KATATONIA ANNOUNCES SPECIAL 20TH ANNIVERSARY NORTH AMERICAN SHOWS
Headlining “Last Fair Day Gone Night 2011” performances scheduled for September and October

Katatonia has announced several special 20th anniversary North American shows in celebration of two decades of gloom and doom from the world-renowned progressive metal titan. The headlining “Last Fair Day Gone Night 2011” performances will take place in the United States and Canada while the band is in North America for the upcoming “Heritage Tour” with fellow Swedish heavyweight, Opeth. Full dates for “Last Fair Day Gone Night 2011” and the “Heritage Tour” can be seen below.

Guitarist Anders Nyström issued the following statement in anticipation of the “Heritage Tour…”

"Both you and we know that North America damn well deserves to see more of Katatonia, right? So how could we possibly resist heading back to the States this fall when Opeth are giving us the opportunity to be their special guests? It was just a matter of time before it had to happen again. Yes we toured together in the same formation ten years ago in Europe, and not only was that tour very well received by both bands’ fans, but we also shared a great ride together as long time friends. Some people have even been calling this bill their ‘dream line-up’, so it's only fair that the loyal fans in North America now get their piece of the cake too! So come out and see us on this great tour and remember we're playing headlining sideshows as well! Looking forward! Cheers!"

Katatonia last toured North America in the fall of 2010, a headlining run on the “Night Over North America” tour, in support of its 2009 release, Night Is The New Day.

JPT Scare Band Continues Their Mad Ascent with First Live Gig in over 35 Years

What a year it's been for JPT Scare Band!  After plying their frenzied, hard-rocking, acid blues trade in near obscurity, the world is waking up to JPT Scare Band's brand of acidified blues and the love and accolades keep pouring in.  Classic Rock Magazine, featured JPT Scare Band on their November edition cover-mounted CD, Rhapsody declared JPT Scare Band one of the "10 Essential Proto-Metal bands", and their debut Ripple Music release, Acid Blues is the White Man's Burden soared up the charts at CDBaby.com to the #2 in the Extended Jams Category where it has continued to hold that position for nearly a full year!

As the world wakes up to the masterful acid jamming that is JPT Scare Band, the boys are readying to unleash a new treat for their legions of fans, young and old: their first live performance in over 35 years!  Without a doubt, JPT Scare Band forged their reputation with their incendiary live performances and now's your chance to witness the band doing what it does best.  JPT Scare Band is blasting it out live at Crosstown Station with Granmax and the New Lost Souls, July 22nd in their hometown of Kansas City, Missouri.

Don't miss this night of psychedelic madness as Kansas City welcomes back their wayward sons and opens their minds and doors for a night of searing acid blues.  Expect some JPT Scare Band classics to blitz the audience, and if rumors are correct, keep your ears open for two brand new songs!
It seems the world is waking up to the terror that is JPT Scare Band.  The Rock and Roll Report  proclaimed Acid Blues is the White Man’s Burden, “sizzles with fuzzy guitars, gritty vocals, and extended jam sessions that instantly transport you to what feels like a Hendrix concert. Terry Swope has got to be one of the world's most underrated guitarists! If you miss the glory days of Cream, Deep Purple, and Jimi Hendrix, you have to check out these uncovered gems from JPT Scare Band.”  Here Comes the Flood decrees that Acid Blues “holds its own against famous niche sharers, such as Cream, Ten Years After, Rory Gallagher and the mighty Led Zeppelin!” and Sonic Abuse gushes that Acid Blues is simply a “gem to treasure.”

Don't miss your chance to catch them live!   Details and tickets at: Crosstown Station.
Acid Blues is the White Man’s Burden is available in limited quantities from Ripple Music in two-toned, gatefold, double-LP with two bonus tracks, Deluxe digipack CD, or digital at www.ripple-music.com and all fine music sites like iTunes, Digstation, Amazon, CD Baby, and eBay.

Personal Message to all Waveriders from Anthrax's Scott Ian

Hello my friends, how are you all?  I hope you're all kicking ass.

I know there's been a lot of rhetoric out there regarding upcoming Anthrax shows, Big 4 and otherwise.

I've been debating on whether or not to make a public statement about this as it really pertains to my personal life and I generally like to keep that personal.  Because this is affecting my band life, I feel like you, my friends, deserve to hear from me personally.

I will be playing the Big 4 show April 23 in Indio, CA s well as the shows in Manila, Bangkok, and Japan that will follow the Indio show.

I won't be playing the shows scheduled from July 2 - 16 in Europe and the UK.  My wife Pearl and I are expecting our first child and she is due literally the day of the Big 4 Sonisphere show in France.

This decision to miss these shows was a deeply personal one.  I co-founded this band July 18, 1981 and for almost thirty years, I have been there for everything we've ever done.  I have never been faced with anything that would make me even question being there for anything Anthrax related.  Becoming a father is the biggest, best thing that's ever happened to me and it made the decision relatively easy.  My priority is with my wife and the birth of our first child.

As soon as I was faced with this decision, I knew, as Freddie Mercury so eloquently said, "the show must go on."

I started thinking about guitar players I knew, guys that I am a fan of, guys that I respect, guys that headbang like Angus was watching them, guys that I listen to and who I thought had the spirit to enable the show to go on.

This wasn't a hard decision at all.  I asked the rest of the band what they thought, and we were on the same page.

We chose Andreas [Kisser from Sepultura] because we feel he can do the gig better than anyone.  He has the fire, the attitude, and the crushing right hand to do the gig. I've played with Andreas at the Roadrunner 25th anniversary show, and I've gotten up and played with Sepultura and we are kindred spirits.  We both play every show like we're going to jail the next day, like it's the last show we'll ever play.  He has what it takes and he has the experience and history to fucking bring it and make these Anthrax shows something special.  I can't wait to see and hear it for myself!!

This year will bring our tenth Anthrax studio record featuring the return of the one and only Joey Belladonna.  We're hard at work finishing it and I can say that from the tracks I have heard, it is going to tear your fucking heads off.  I'm looking forward to getting back on the road with the band that is now better than we've ever been, and seeing all your sick faces and banging heads.

Cheers,

Scott

Agent Orange, California's influential punk/surf power trio, has been around longer than its loyal following can even remember. Formed in Orange County, California in 1979, Agent Orange immediately gained attention thanks to the band’s revolutionary, unique mix of punk rock and surf music. Often considered underrated to this very day, Agent Orange is back at it, having recently released Halloween Single and now hitting the road and coming back North after several years of absence.

Agent Orange will tour Canada with Montreal grunge metallers Slaves on Dope. The famed Canadian nu metal band reformed in 2009 when its founding members, Jason Rockman (Vocals) and Kevin Jardine (guitars), chose to reunite after a five year hiatus and begin work on their third studio album, "Over the Influence."

Slaves On Dope vocalist Jason Rockman comments.
''Kevin and I have been hard at work for the last 2 years. We believe that we have written the most honest and aggressive slaves album yet! We can't wait to unleash these songs on the world, and see what happens."
