Ripple News - Bernard Sumner Challenges You Waveriders to Create His Newest Video
Bernard Sumner and Bad Lieutenant are putting the creative onus squarely into the hands of their fans, offering you the opportunity to create the official video for their new single, "Twist of Fate."
The band is partnering with DailyMotion.com, the second largest web video site in the world and one of the most popular for music videos, for a contest that invites fans and aspiring filmmakers to create what will be the official music video for the band's new single, "Twist of Fate," from their debut album, Never Cry Another Tear. The competition started February 23 and will run until April 2, about a week after the single's March 23 U.S. release date. The winning submission will be personally chosen by the members of Bad Lieutenant. The winner's video will be featured on the Bad Lieutenant channel, as well as on the band's MySpace page, official website, and other social networks, as the official video for "Twist of Fate." The winner will also receive a Kodak Zi8 H-D video flip-cam, the Bad Lieutenant Deluxe Vinyl and Artwork Package, and additional band merchandise.
Once a video is completed, fans are asked to upload it as a fan video to the Contest Page at http://www.dailymotion.com/group/TwistofFate/ All videos will be reviewed prior to appearing live on the page where fans can view all of the videos in competition.
To be eligible to win, entries must be completed and received by April 2 so go here: http://www.dailymotion.com/group/twistoffate to download "Twist of Fate," and then launch Final Cut or iMovie or whatever your choice of digital editing software may be.
Bad Lieutenant is the project formed in 2007 by New Order's Bernard Sumner (guitar, vocals) and Phil Cunn ingham (guitar), along with Jake Evans (guitar, vocals). Their debut, Never Cry Another Tear, was released last October (Original Signal Recordings) to critical acclaim. If video/filmaking is your thing, you may want to check this one out.
